HC Deb 12 March 1993 vol 220 c737W
Mrs. Fyfe

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will establish a public inquiry into drug-related deaths in Scotland.

Lord James Douglas-Hamilton

[holding answer 10 March 1993]: I understand that the procurator fiscal at Glasgow is currently conducting a detailed series of inquiries into a number of apparently drug-related deaths of young adults in the Glasgow area. The possibility of holding an inquiry under the Fatal Accidents and Sudden Deaths Inquiry (Scotland) Act 1970 is presently being considered by my noble and learned Friend the Lord Advocate.
