§ Mr. Chris SmithTo ask the Secretary of State for Employment how many safety reports required under the Control of Industrial Major Accident Hazard Regulations have been submitted to the Health and Safety Executive for each of the last four years; how many have been accepted as complying with CIMAH provisions in each year; and if she will list those companies whose submissions have not yet been accepted as complying.
§ Mr. McLoughlinThe information is not available in the form requested and could be obtained only at disproportionate cost.
By 30 September 1992, the latest date for which information is centrally available, a total of 668 safety reports required by the Control of Industrial Major Accident Hazards—CIMAH—Regulations 1984 had been received by the Health and Safety Executive—HSE—since the regulations came into force on 1 April 1985.
602WOf these, the HSE considers that 207 reports provide sufficient and suitable information but that 109 do not. The remaining reports are still subject to the HSE's multi-discipline assessment.
It is not the HSE's policy to publish the names of those companies whose reports do not meet the requirements of CIMAH.
