§ Mr. TippingTo ask the Secretary of State for Health if she will place in the Library a copy of the NHS management executive's report "Care for the Community in the 21st Century".
§ Mr. YeoThe document referred to is not a national health service management executive document but a discussion paper which represents the output from a "learning set" of professionals drawn from the NHS and from local government and does not represent Government policy, nor the official view of any of the organisations who employ the members of the group.
The establishment of the set was supported through the resource management unit of the NHS management executive to enable an exchange of views between experienced senior people from different backgrounds but with a common interest in community and priority care services on a topic of their choice.
The "learning set" decided to distribute their piece of work widely within health organisations as a contribution to the debate on the future of community and priority care services, as one might with a piece of academic research. In the same spirit arrangements were made for distribution to Health Select Committee members and for copies to be available in the Library.
