§ Ms. WalleyTo ask the Secretary of State for Transport, pursuant to his answer of 2 March,Official Report, column 67, if he will require all ferries operating out of United Kingdom ports to comply with United Kingdom regulations on the installation and operation of ships' sewage systems.
§ Mr. NorrisAgreement at the International Maritime Organisation will enable provision to be made for international requirements for sewage systems on passenger vessels. The United Kingdom will introduce the appropriate merchant shipping legislation to give these requirements full effect.
