HC Deb 03 March 1993 vol 220 c177W
32. Mr. Pawsey

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland what is the ratio of broadleaf trees to conifers planted and to be planted in(a) 1992–93 and (b) 1993–94.

Sir Hector Monro

One third of the total area of woodland planted in 1991–92 by the Forestry Commission, and by the private sector with the aid of Forestry Commission grants, was with broadleaved trees. This included the restocking of felled woodland. I expect the ratio of broadleaves to conifers to be similar in 1992–93 and 1993–94.
