To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, pursuant to his answers to the hon. Member for Stockport (Ms. Coffey) of 7 June,Official Report, column 12, how many married quarters there are in the Stockport and Glasgow areas for any personnel located in either area, for the proposed new Army personnel centre.

In addition, an allocation of £710,000 has recently been agreed for a project to establish and monitor three locally trained demining teams in the Zambezia province of Mozambique. Once the project has been formally agreed by the peace commission in Mozambique the Halo Trust will implement it.

Apart from these humanitarian operations, United Kingdom military personnel are providing training in Glasgow area could be made available for military personnel if the new centre were established at either location.
