HC Deb 27 July 1993 vol 229 c879W
Mr. Battle

To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer how many officers have been employed investigating tax fraud; and what amounts have been recovered as a result, in each year since 1979.

Mr. Dorrell

[holding answer 26 July 1993]: It is not possible to isolate resources and yield relating to fraud cases from those relating to other tax investigating work. But I refer the hon. Member to the replies I gave the hon. Member for Darlington (Mr. Milburn) on 25 June at columns 327–28, 29 June at columns 454–55, and 6 July columns 100–01.
