§ Mr. SainsburyDuring the Foreign Affairs Council meeting on 20 July, it was agreed that the objective 1 financial allocation for the United Kingdom for the period 1994–99 should be 2,430 million ecu at 1992 prices. The Government have decided to distribute this allocation as follows: Northern Ireland 1,270 mecu, Merseyside 840 mecu and the Scottish Highlands and Islands 320. mecu.
