How many disturbances have taken place at Wolds Prison since it opened in April 1992 and whether they will provide further information about these disturbances.

Earl Ferrers has asked me to reply to your recent question asking how many disturbances have taken place at Wolds Prison since it opened in April 1992 and whether further information about these disturbances will be provided.

Since Wolds Remand Prison opened in April 1992, there have been 13 disturbances, up to and including 19 July 1993. Details of incidents between the opening of the prison and 17 October have already been provided to Parliament (Official Report: 6th July, col. 38 and 18th November, col. 198), but are included in the attached table for ease of reference, along with more recent disturbances.
