§ Mr. Home RobertsonTo ask the Secretary of State for Defence what are his plans for the future of the RD57 site; what would be the cost of reinstating the site if no alternative use can be made of it; and what would be the cost of finishing work at the site to render it safe and useable for another purpose.
§ Mr. AitkenOptions for the future of RD57 remain under consideration. We estimate the cost of reinstating the site to be in the order of £15 million; this was taken into account in the comparative assessment of the nuclear facility proposals.
