HL Deb 22 July 1993 vol 548 c64WA
Lord Dormand of Easington

asked Her Majesty's Government:

What is the amount of grant paid to the British Film Commission and for what period, and whether it is their intention to extend the life of the Commission.

Viscount Astor

The British Film Commission was set up in May 1991 with Government funding of £3.5 million over the four years ending in March 1995. The Commission's grant for the financial year 1993–94 is set at £.1.1 million. We shall decide on whether to extend Government funding beyond 1995 in the light of an independent evaluation of the Commission's performance, which will be undertaken in 1994.
