HL Deb 22 July 1993 vol 548 c64WA
Lord Moran

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they have received any advice from English Nature, or other statutory conservation agencies, about the desirability of extending local authority jurisdiction below the low-water mark.

The Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, Department of the Environment (Lord Strathclyde)

The effectiveness of existing regulatory arrangements below low water mark, including the role of local authorities and other key agencies, is currently under review. English Nature has advised and is advising the Government on the nature conservation aspects of this work.
