To ask the President of the Board of Trade what is the total amount of coal produced in(a) Wales, (b) Scotland and (c) England in the last year for which full figures are available; and what are the corresponding figures for each year since 1986.

The amounts of coal produced in England, Scotland and Wales were as follows:

reactor grade plutonium is held in secure conditions while in the United Kingdom. Any exports are subject to stringent internationally accepted standards of safeguards and physical protection. The Government would allow the export of plutonium from reprocessing only on receipt of satisfactory assurances that the material would be used only for peaceful purposes.
