HC Deb 22 January 1993 vol 217 c452W
Mr. Vaz

To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment how many staff are intended to be employed by the urban regeneration agency; and what is its budget for the first three years.

Mr. Robin Squire

It will be for the agency to assess the staff resources it requires to deliver its work programme. The agency's budget will incorporate the existing resources of the three programmes it is taking over, including the additional resources for English Estates' work in the coalfields which were announced by the President of the Board of Trade on 19 October. We anticipate that these elements will total to £268 million in 1993–94, rising to about £300 million in 1995–96. These figures depend in part upon the level of receipts raised from the sale of assets.
