HC Deb 18 January 1993 vol 217 cc67-8W
Mr. Corbyn

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport to what extent the £270 million public spending on transport, detailed in the Chancellor of the Exchequer's autumn statement will be spent on transport services in London.

Mr. Norris

In his autumn statement, the Chancellor of the Exchequer announced that the Department of Transport would be spending £6.4 billion next year. Of this, £1 billion will go to London Transport. As many projects relate both to inside and outside London, it is not possible to identify exactly how much of the remaining £5.4 billion will be spent on transport services in London.
