Further to Lord Henley's remarks (H.L. Deb., 1st December 1992, col. 1325), which government departments were consulted about the Income Support (General) (Amendment) (No. 3) Regulations, at what stage of the proceedings they were consulted, and what advice was received from them.

  • Lord Chancellor's Department
  • Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food
  • Ministry of Defence

  • Welsh Office
Inter-departmental liaison has been ongoing across a broad range of issues in relation to illegal and anti-social behaviour during the summer, of which the steps to combat abuse of the social security system formed a part.
