§ Mrs. Helen JacksonTo ask the Secretary of State for Education (1) what responses he has had to the consultation exercise with higher education on changing the contribution arrangements of the National Union of Students; and if he will make these available to hon. Members;
(2) what further action he is proposing to take to change the basis on which contributions are made to the National Union of Students.
§ Mr. BoswellIn the course of the consultations initiated by the Government on student unions, my right hon. Friend has received a number of responses on campus unions and the National Union of Students. In the light of the consultations, the Government are now considering proposals for action. Affiliation arrangements to the National Union of Students are being considered within this framework.
