§ Mr. McLoughlin[holding answer 23 February 1993]: The labour force survey shows that in spring 1922 there were 910,000 people who were ILO unemployed, and therefore economically active, but not receiving unemployment related benefits in the United Kingdom. Conversely there were 890,000 people receiving unemployment related benefits who were not ILO unemployed. In spring 1992, there were 2.732 million ILO unemployed and 2.717 million people claiming unemployment related benefits in the UK. These figures are not seasonally adjusted.
§ Mr. CoxTo ask the Secretary of State for Employment how many(a) men and (b) women have become unemployed in each region of the United Kingdom since 11 April 1992.
