§ Mr. Llew SmithTo ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what plans he has to publish the evidence given prior to 1985 on the safety of products reviewed by his Advisory Committee on Pesticides.
§ Mr. SoamesMeasures to open up access to information on the safety of pesticides approved before 1986 were announced in August 1992. These will provide for access to all relevant studies submitted to the registration authorities with the application for the approval of a pesticide. To implement these new arrangements amendments to the Control of Pesticides Regulations 1986 will be required. The necessary legislative proposals are currently being prepared.
