To ask the President of the Board of Trade what investment has taken place in the cotton and man-made fibre weaving industry, statistical class 4322, in the last five years for which figures are available; and to what extent this investment benefited from Government grants.

In Great Britain grants were paid under the regional selective assistance scheme and the revised regional developments grants scheme.
