To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment when the results of the English house condition survey 1991 will be made available; and what will be their role in the allocation of specified capital grant resources for the English regions in 1994–95.

Mr. Baldry

Results from the 1991 English house condition survey will be published this year. It is planned that, for 1994–95, figures from the 1991 survey will replace the 1986 figures currently used in the formulae for the allocation of specific capital grant to English regions.

To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment when he now expects the house condition survey; and if he will make a statement.
