To ask the Secretary of State for Health what plans she has to issue further guidance to local authorities on the operation of the Children Act 1989 in the light of the report on the first year of the Act's implementation.

Mr. Yeo

We have no immediate plans to do so, but we are keeping under review the Children Act guidance and will issue more as and when the need arises.
