§ Mr. RooneyTo ask the Secretary of State for Employment what plans she has to review the regulations and guidance on the design and location of control rooms and office accommodation at chemical manufacturing sites in the light of the explosion in September 1992 at Hickson and Welch of Castleford.
§ Mr. McLoughlinOn 22 September 1992 the Health and Safety Commission directed the Health and Safety Executive, under section 14(2) of the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974, to hold a formal investigation into the incident at Hickson and Welch and to make a report. Once this has been concluded, the Health and Safety Executive will decide what action may then be appropriate.
