§ Lord James Douglas-Hamilton[holding answer 17 February 1993]: The consultation paper on the structure of local government in Scotland, which was issued in October 1992 and sent to all local authorities, invited views on whether changes might be made in the structure and number of police forces and authorities. I do not yet have proposals to put forward on these matters; when I do, there will be an opportunity for police authorities to comment on them.
