HC Deb 19 February 1993 vol 219 c394W
Dr. Godman

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will bring forward proposals to provide that, where a claimant suffering from asbestosis or related ailments is in receipt of legal aid but dies before his case is heard, that assistance will be given to this next-of-kin so that the case can proceed through the courts; and if he will make a statement.

Lord James Douglas-Hamilton

[holding answer 17 February 1993]: My right hon. and noble Friend the Minister of State at the Scottish Office, who has ministerial responsibility for legal aid matters, will write to the hon. Member as soon as possible.
