To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department on what basis Aylesbury Vale, Rochford and Uttlesford were awarded Yugoslav displaced persons grant; which authorities were turned down in their applications for such grants; how many refugees each authority accepted; and how much unreimbursed expenditure each incurred.

Yugoslav displaced persons grant is paid on qualifying expenditure above a threshold. Local authorities were invited to submit estimates of the expenditure they had incurred or expected to incur during 1992–93. Sixty-one local authorities did so, as listed in the table. The table also
