HC Deb 17 February 1993 vol 219 c219W
Mr. Austin Mitchell

To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will consider taking anti-dumping action in relation to imports of Russian food and fish.

Mr. Curry

I am aware of the United Kingdom fishing industry's concern that the current weak market for some species may be caused in part by the importation of cheap Russian cod. The United Kingdom, along with other member states and the EC Commission, is urgently studying the situation on the Community market in relation to the reference prices and associated provisions set out in EC regulation 3759/92 on the common organisation of the market in fishery and aquaculture products.
