As Chief Executive of the Benefits Agency, it is my responsibility to answer questions raised about relevant operational matters. I am therfore replying to your recent Parliamentary Question to the Secretary of State for Social Security, about when he will take steps to resolve the Attendance Allowance claim of Mrs. June Stanley which is outstanding from February 1992.A decision on Mrs. Stanley's Attendance Allowance claim was made on 21 January 1992 and a further review decision on 15 June 1992. Mrs. Stanley subsequently appealed on 1 September against the review decision and arrangements are now being made for a Disability Appeal Tribunal to consider her appeal.
