§ Mr. Ron DaviesTo ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food on what basis he exercises his discretion in(a) paying in full, (b) paying in part and (c) refusing late applications for suckler cow premiums.
§ Mr. CurrySuckler cow premium is paid under Council regulation (EEC) 1357/80 as amended and Commission regulation (EEC) 1244/82, as amended. The time limits are strict. Applications received 10 working days after the closing date, which are otherwise eligible, may be admitted but premium is reduced by 30 per cent. Applications received after this 10 working day "period of grace" cannot be accepted unless there are valid force majeure reasons for doing so.
