HC Deb 11 February 1993 vol 218 c765W
17. Lady Olga Maitland

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many victims there have been of crimes of stabbing in each of the last three years.

Mr. Jack

We do not know the total number of victims of stabbings, which are not recorded as a separate offence category by the police. We do know that the number of homicides in England and Wales where the method of killing was by a sharp instrument were 182 in 1989; 184 in 1990; and 223 in 1991.
