HC Deb 11 February 1993 vol 218 cc781-2W
Lady Olga Maitland

To ask the Secretary of State for Employment what support the Government are currently giving to the Prince's Trust in its work to help the unemployed.

Mr. Jack

I have been asked to reply.

The work of the Prince's Trust assists both employed and unemployed young people. It is therefore not possible to identify support specifically for the unemployed.

In the current year, the Home Office and DHSS (Northern Ireland) contributed £67,780 to the Prince's Trust volunteers. The Department of Employment contributed £4.375 million to the associated Prince's Youth Business Trust. Further support from public funds has been provided locally through training and enterprise councils.
