§ Mr. Llew SmithTo ask the Secretary of State for Wales how many men aged 16 to 64 years were registered as unemployed on 1 May 1992, 1 May 1991 and 1 May 1990 in(a) the county of Gwent and (b) each of the district councils in Gwent; how many of them had been registered as unemployed for more than six months, more than 12 months, more than two years and more than five years; how many of them have never had a job; and if he will present the figures as a percentage of all economically active males and provide comparable figures and percentages for females.

No local area information is collected centrally on those who have never had a job and unemployment rates for specific age groups are not available.
