To ask the Secretary of State for Wales whether it would be possible for the chairman of the Wales tourist board also to hold the post at the British Tourist Authority.

It would be possible for the chairman of the WTB to hold the post of chairman of the British Tourist Authority also.

To ask the Secretary of State for Wales what proposals he intends to make regarding the role of the chairman of the Wales tourist board and the next chairman of the British Tourist Authority.

The appointment of the British Tourist Authority chairman is a matter for my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for National Heritage, in consultation with myself and my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Scotland. The chairman of the Wales tourist board will continue as a member of that authority.
