§ Mr. BellinghamTo ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what changes he plans to his Department's cash limits for 1993–93.
§ Mr. GummerThe cash limit for class III, vote 2 (Intervention Board—Executive Agency's administration) will be reduced by £3,000,000 from £47,774,000 to £44,774,000, reflecting reduced expenditure in the payments for agents' services. It will be offset by an increase of £3,000,000 to the cash limit on class III vote 5 to reflect lower receipts by the Ministry and will not therefore add to the planned total of public expenditure. The vote 5 cash limit will be increased from £263,095,000 to £266,095,000 subject to parliamentary approval of the necessary Supplementary Estimate.
At the same time the cash limit for class III vote 4 (agricultural, food and fishing services) will be reduced by £3,637,000 from £350,056,000 to £346,419,000. Expenditure will be reduced by £493,000 on agricultural grant schemes; £1,600,000 on coast protection and by 267W £1,544,000 on sea fishery support. These reductions reflect a predicted decrease in demand and delay in implementation in further areas of these schemes.
