HC Deb 03 February 1993 vol 218 cc206-7W
Mr. Cox

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what discussions he has had with the Secretary-General of the United Nations in respect of the resumption of the UN-sponsored talks on Cyprus; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Garel-Jones

My right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs is in regular contact with the United Nations Secretary General about Cyprus, as about other issues, through the Britist ambassador to the United Nations. The Government welcome the agreement by all parties to resume talks in March, and will continue actively to support the efforts of the United Nations.
