Member for East Lothian on Monday 11 January, c.635, what financial provision is to be made either by his Department or by Scottish Nuclear Ltd. for the eventual permanent storage or disposal of high-level nuclear waste following its removal from the planned temporary dry stores at Torness and Hunterston.
§ Mr. Stewart[holding answer 20 January 1993]: As indicated in my earlier answer, no decision has yet been taken about Scottish Nuclear Ltd's proposed dry store for spent AGR fuel. In the circumstances described in the hon. Member's question, financial provision would be a matter for Scottish Nuclear Ltd.
