§ Mr. Stewart[holding answer 20 January 1993]: The Scottish Office Industry Department assists the engineering industry in Scotland by providing advice on exports, technology and best management practice and by providing grant-aid. Grants are available to help 168W companies to introduce new products and processes, to obtain specialist advice and, in certain areas, to undertake capital investment projects.
