§ Mr. BrookeTaxation regimes are a matter for the Chancellor. The amount of pool betting duty paid in 1991–92 was £319.46 million. The pools companies contributed over £20 million to the Football Trust in 1991–92, following the reduction of 2.5 per cent. in pool betting duty introduced in the 1990 Budget. A further110W reduction of 2.5 per cent. in the 1991 Budget, combined with the 5p levy on every £1 staked by players, yielded over £60 million for the Foundation for Sport and the Arts in the same year.
