To ask the Secretary of State for Education if he will list those schools which have recently been sent a letter from OFSTED about their poor performance; and when each of those schools last had a full HMI inspection.

This is not a matter for my right hon. Friend. HMI have not inspected all schools on a regular basis, and OFSTED believe it would be invidious to publish the names of those which, on the basis of inspection evidence, give them cause for concern. The new inspection arrangements being established under the Schools Act will ensure that all schools are regularly inspected, and those at risk of failing their pupils are identified in a published report.
