§ Mr. ChisholmTo ask the Secretary of State for Scotland, what is(a) the 1993–94 estimated outturn and (b) the 1994–95 planned provision of local authority net capital expenditure in Scotland.
§ Mr. Stewart[holding answer 14 December 1993]: The information is (a) £878 million and (b) £918 million respectively, resulting in an increase of over £39 million or 4.5 per cent.
The figures for both years are inclusive of capital grants. They exclude expenditure carried forward from previous years under the end-year flexibility arrangements. The also exclude capital expenditure funded from revenue and from the European regional development fund. The planned provision for 1994–95 is provisional since detailed expenditure allocations are subject to revision until final plans are published in the departmental report "Serving Scotland's Needs".
