To ask the Secretary of State for Wales how many(a) primary and (b) secondary schols in each local education authority in Wales are or have been eligible to apply for grant-maintained status; how many in each case have held ballots under section 61 of the Education Act 1988; how many ballots in each case resulted in votes to seek grant-maintained status and how many of these have been subject to section 12 or 13 notices; and how many ballots in each case resulted in votes against seeking grant-maintained status.

To ask the Secretary of State for Wales what applications were received from grant-maintained schools for capital grant for the financial year 1993–94; and what has been the level of grant approved in each case.

In addition to the formula-related capital grant for the purchase of equipment or small-scale capital projects, which grant-maintained schools receive automatically, applications have been received in respect of the following specific projects:
