HC Deb 17 December 1993 vol 234 c958W
Mr. Allen

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs when was the last date on which appeals against refusal of entry to visitors were allowed; and how many non-appeal representations he has received from those subsequently refused.

Mr. Lennox-Boyd

Applications for visit entry clearances decided on or after Monday 26 July 1993 do not have the right of appeal following the enactment of the Asylum and Immigration Appeals Act 1993. The information about representations could not be provided except at disproportionate cost. However, there has been no discernible increase in Members' representations on entry clearance matters.
