§ Mr. RedwoodInformation on the average number of beef cows and ewes on cattle and sheep farms, wholly or mainly in less-favoured areas in Wales, according to the agricultural census of June 1992 is shown in the following table. The farm business survey is a sample survey of only those farms which are considerd to be full-time commercial businesses and excludes very small farms. Also, unlike the census it records the average number of livestock on the holding throughout the year. On livestock farms wholly or mainly in the less-favoured areas the average numbers of beef cows and ewes recorded by the farm business survey on farms in Wales in 1992–93 were 20 and 643 respectively. The equivalent information at county level is not available.
