To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland with which organisations he consulted before his decision to downgrade from A21 to unclassified that section of roadway in Francis street, Newtownards from Castle place to its junction with Zion place; and if he will make a statement.

To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what is the volume of traffic in Newtownards at(a) route A21 from Georges street to New road and (b) the unclassified roadway at Francis street from Castle place to its junction with Zion place.

The information requested is as follows:

  1. (a) approximately 15,700 vehicles per day;
  2. (b) approximately 13,900 vehicles per day.
