HL Deb 16 December 1993 vol 550 cc130-1WA
Earl Russell

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they will consider allowing fees to the Child Support Agency to be paid in instalments.

The Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, Department of Social Security (Viscount Astor)

Where a liability to pay assessment fees or collection fees under the Child Support Act arises, the fees become due in full on the 14th day after the invoice was given or sent to the liable person. However, if the person is unable to pay in full, the Child Support Agency may accept instalments, provided the request is reasonable and that an agreement is reached to pay the fees in the shortest possible time.
