§ Mr. Lennox-BoydThe British aid programme, in collaboration with the World Bank and other donors, is supporting economic reform programmes in developing countries, which will set the policy framework for sustainable growth and create jobs. At the same time the Overseas Development Administration is assisting recipient governments to define and carry out their own poverty reduction strategies, to ensure that the poor benefit from economic growth. We are also providing direct assistance to the poor in developing countries, to enhance their livelihood security, increase their incomes, and improve their access to basic social services.
