To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many people arriving on a cross-channel ferry have been refused leave to enter the United Kingdom and removed each month since May at(a) Dover western docks, (b) Dover eastern docks, (c) Folkestone, (d) Ramsgate and (e) Newhaven.

The number of persons removed from the United Kingdom under the deportation process was 2,220 in 1991, 2,453 in 1992, and 1,654—provisional figure—for January to September 1993.
