HC Deb 10 December 1993 vol 234 c427W
Mr. Hain

To ask the President of the Board of Trade what is the difference between the planned external finance requirements of the Post Office for 1994–95 in the Financial Statement and Budget report of the previously announced figure; and what part of it represents proceeds from the proposed sale of Parcelforce as mentioned in paragraph 5.42 of the Financial Statement.

Mr. McLoughlin

[holding answer 9 December 1993]: The 1994–95 external financing limit for the Post Office was set at –£186 million in the 1992 autumn statement. This figure has been revised to –£226 million in the 1993 "Financial Statement and Budget Report." None of this increase represents proceeds from the proposed sale of Parcelforce.
