HL Deb 08 December 1993 vol 550 c76WA
Lord Gainford

asked Her Majesty's Government:

What arrangements they have made for this year's review of the Prevention of Terrorism (Temporary Provisions) Act 1989 and how observations from interested persons or organisations should be submitted for consideration.

Earl Ferrers

I am glad to say that Mr. J. J. Rowe QC, this year's chairman of the Bar Council, has accepted my right honourable friend's invitation to succeed Viscount Colville of Culross QC in carrying out this annual review. Viscount Colville has performed this task with great dedication and integrity, and has deservedly won widespread respect. I am extremely grateful to him for this invaluable public service.

Written observations about the operation of the Act should be submitted to Mr. Rowe, c/o Room 647, Home Office, 50 Queen Anne's Gate, London SW1H 9AT by 15 January 1994.
