HC Deb 06 December 1993 vol 234 cc91-2W
Mrs. Fyfe

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland what arrangements have been made for superannuation contributions transferred into trusts; and whether a trust may use any of the money for any other purpose.

Mr. Stewart

[holding answer 3 December 1993]: Employees of national health service trusts have the same rights to membership of the statutory national health service superannuation scheme as other NHS employees. Their contribution to the scheme, and those of their employers, are payable to the Exchequer to fund superannuation benefits, and cannot be used for any other purpose.
